Do you plan on applying for another ink soon ? If not, you might wanna try to get them to waive the fee. If you do the 5% at office supply stores it pays to have this card even with the AF.
You can downgrade to the ink cash, keep the UR points and 5% categories, pay no annual fee, and keep open the option to get the bonus again when the 70,000 points or something similar comes back.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

The ink cash caps the 5% categories at $25k while the plus caps it at $50k.

Based on all the conversations, should I just go get the CSP (if they'll give it to me. I just got the United explorers) and move the UR points into that account and then it's transferable to airlines? Sounds more flexible than the freedom and waiting two years for another ink deal? Another problem. I already got the $95 fee on my bill. It takes a little while to get the new cards (if I qualify). How much time do I have to cancel and get back the AF? Finally, where's the best CSP deal?

Best CSP offer is 40k plus 5k for au. 60k signup bonus for the ink comes around quite often.

Telling them to downgrade out should eliminate the annual fee instantly. The CSP 45,000 UR is worth it over the ink if you don't use staples vgc's to hit spending threshold. If you do, the 5x makes it much easier to swallow gift card fees (since you're making $3.08 for every $200 card you buy). Inventing a business should only be done in case of necessity.

Could you explain this? If I call to downgrade they'll give it to me for another year with no fee? Or am I misunderstanding you?

Chase has two business cards; the ink plus and ink cash. The ink plus has an annual fee, the ink cash doesn't. (The main disadvantage of the ink cash is that you can't transfer points to miles, but you're just using it to store your points until you get a CSP or ink plus again.) Hence, when you downgrade, you will not have to pay an annual fee. (The other disadvantages are a 3% foreign exchange fee, and only $25,000 a year is eligible for 5x in bonus categories, as mentioned above.)

I had thought that Office Max sold $500 vgc's in store, just it's a lot more convenient to order gift cards from Staples online, especially if you don't have an Office Max in your area.
