I have some obscure foreign currencies I'd like to deposit, but I don't want to get ripped off with transaction fees and/or lousy conversation rates.

Anyone know where I should try to deposit?

When depositing a $10k CAD check BOA gave me a much better rate then chase would have.

Thanks all for your your responses/ideas.

When depositing a $10k CAD check BOA gave me a much better rate then chase would have.

Better isn't quite good enough, I don't trust bofa... (besides the fact, they A/A'd my checking account).

Was in chase yesterday they were giving 61 for 50 euro, exact rate is 64.5.

That's serious ripoff, the airport guys might even be cheaper :D

Maybe try TD Bank I seem to remember they give market rate.

Still too pricey for me. XE.com tells me my foreign currency is worth $1587, TD offered $1471 + $10 fee for TD customers: same rate, ($7.50 fee), still almost 8%.

With the dollar as strong as it is (on XE charts), I think I'll hold onto the foreign currency for now.
