26 YO here. Remember it clear as day, no pun intended.
When someone in yeshiva mentioned to me the twin tower were hit I laughed & said what else is news this morning.. Crazy crazy day.. The memorial/museum is very nice put together for those that havent been there yet..

IMO, the difference is more a question of the type of war that followed. The war on terror did not affect the average American at all in comparison to the way WWII did.

That doesn't lessen the difference, it just helps explain it. I don't necessarily agree that this accounts for the whole difference either. You have to remember that the Axis powers had already conquered a whole lot of places. It was very much a global issue, in a way that doesn't really translate to terrorism.

There is no way you can know that. What we do know is how PH and 9/11 affected us and the world. We also know how many lives were lost. There is no comparison.

Well for starters the government let both of them happen because they wanted in on both types of wars. And many other comparisons continue.

To say you can't compare them is ignorant. They are two of the most comparable events in the past 70 years of US history.

Hey man this is JS and you know what today is. Your statement was equally as ignorant.

Ftr my HS history teacher did believe PH was allowed by FDR so we can join WWII. We needed an excuse.

He presented very convincing facts to support it, like radar reports from that day that the WH said to ignore.

Both were terrible tragedies that shaped our nation, and they both led us to sending soldiers overseas.
