$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

I booked an AA return flight in F LAX-JFK for a time I don't like, but that was the only flight that was available on that day for the saver level. I read on AA.com that J and F awards can be changed same day for no fee. Anybody with experience? Can it be done over the phone as long as there is a seat on the next flight?

It depends what type of seat is available, if its U class, then you can switch to anyday for no fee

Stupid question, I know the answer should be that it will cost me but I really don't want it too... :-[

If I change an AA JFK-LAX reservation to LAX-JFK will I be charged a change fee?

Two AA questions:

1) I was able to hold an EY F ticket on AA for which EY was showing no "Guest" availability. Should I assume that ticketing will fail, or did I get lucky?

2) I'm attempting to book a return leg MLE-DOH-JFK for which each segment individually has only one award seat in business, but as married segments (on ba.com), there are three seats. I tried three different AA agents and each said that they could not marry the segments to show more than one seat. Is this a case of phantom availability on BA.com, incompetent AA agents, or a problem with AA booking systems?

I keep on seeing the same thing on SYD-MEL-LAX with QF F, I woulkd assume it's phantom from BA.com. (I wish its otherwise....)

It's a common BA.com error. It's because the first leg has 3 seats available even though the second leg doesn't have 3 seats available, it shows like that.

You are right! (I experimented by looking for two seats instead of one on the married segments and it went from showing 3 seats available to 0 seats available)

Where can I check 'real' availability on QF F? I've seen availability on quantas.com & ba.com, then AA representative (even the ones in AUS...) don't see them!

Care to elaborate how you accomplished that feat?
