That's their standard price. Add $100 tax if flying AA for the long haul or $350 if it's BA.

BA is 23k off peak or 30k peak dates. Taxes $300-$350 on AA/BA metal. If you find AB metal, taxes are only $25, although AB doesn't qualify for off-peak pricing.

Then you have 25k AF + $100 (cheaper if you wait for their next promo).

I called to change my itinerary from CX F JFK-HKG to JL F JFK-NRT-HKG, and they are telling me that if I change the carrier I have to pay the new mileage rate! Auh???

HUCA as changing from one OW carrier to another shouldn't trigger a recalculation
