$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

UPDATE: AA has removed all close-in fees

Get them to lend me the miles. Meanwhile they held the award which is surprising.
Well good for you.
My EXP plat rep refused to let me do so and I had to buy them  >:(

That's their standard price. Add $100 tax if flying AA for the long haul or $350 if it's BA.

BA is 23k off peak or 30k peak dates. Taxes $300-$350 on AA/BA metal. If you find AB metal, taxes are only $25, although AB doesn't qualify for off-peak pricing.

Then you have 25k AF + $100 (cheaper if you wait for their next promo).

Also, please post in the appropriate thread.

Change your flight so that you have an overnight or a long layover in HKG. When you check-in, ask them not to check your bags to BKK because you need it in HKG for your overnight stay.
Just not taking the last flight is OK as long as you arrange for your luggage not to be checked through.

Thank you guys!

So I found AY availability on BA called AA because it didnt show up online. They were able to hold the reservation for 5 days. Good ole days. Trying to use my AA miles with Barclaycard Aviator rebate. Im almost exactly 10k miles short in this account which is the max rebate I would receive. Do i need the miles in my account to book and then get as a rebate or will they just book. The agent i spoke with didnt have a clue and insisted it was domestic only.
I've had it done on 2 occasions.

If you want to change airports, can you get the fee waived?
I finally was able to get fee waived , only within 21 days of trip.

HUCA as changing from one OW carrier to another shouldn't trigger a recalculation

Is the likelihoods of an award seat to open up on CX F around the Chinese new year worse than any other time in the year?

At lease they're not charging a redeposit since the ORD-BWI leg was switched to a Y-only plane.

Had two quick questions on booking an AA award flight (AA metal to Eur and LY metal to TLV):

1. Does AA award ticket allow for a free domestic trailing flight in the year following return to destination?

It used to
not anymore.

I would think there is more chance of it opening since the country goes into a meltdown.

If I let a award hold expire, i don't need to worry about anything.
Correct?
