$75 fee:

-21+ days prior to departure is based on the departing city time zone, not the booking city time zone.

EDIT: I managed to call in and have them waive the fee when it was within 21 days in departing city time zone but not by booking city time zone

IB shows seats available with Avios. Is it guaranteed that AA will be able to find those seats? Also, BA Avios does not show those seats either but can book them with exorbitant YQ over the phome. They are not phantom per IB call center.

Best number to try AA for this availability?

Nothing is guaranteed, try calling AA and see what they say?

Called multiple times. They intially saw it as a married segment to a BUD trip then couldnt replicate it.

Oh, IB practices married segment inventory control (more space on flights that connect in IB)

The question then is can I get that on AA award. It seemed that way for 5 minutes this morning with AA Australia and then I got cocky and asked for them to try JFK-MAD without the connection to BUD and they came up empty. So I asked for them to try JFK-MAD-BUD and they couldnt replicate the earlier availability. HUCA'd twice. Will try Australia one more time. They seem to at least be willing to work with me. AA US are just detached robots.

YQ is $101 on IB and $1k on BA.
2 issues, I'd have to borrow MR for my IB and I'd much rather blow 57.5k AA than 72k IB

57.5 AA vs 58k MR.

Its actually 66.5k IB so even less MR...but still anytime you can dump AA miles over MR at or near par its worth it.

Not necessarily, I value AA for things like QR, EY, CX which are harder or impossible to book with with MR, obviously each person will be different but I wouldn't necessarily use AA over MR just because it's AA.

Its 47,375 MR. Its a no brainer to use MR. Thanks for setting me straight.

Does AA allow routing to Asia via the ME?  Looking for JFK-SIN.  Can I book QR J via DOH for 70k?
