instant chiller
« on: December 13, 2010, 09:11:23 AM »
I figured out how to chill drinks (or anything) in under a minute, with minimal spending.

Pour water into a container (that fits in freezer) pour enough salt into the water to make it that it doesn't freeze (this might take some trial and error) put the container in freezer over night. Once it has been in freezer over night you can put whatever you want in the container and it is cold within a minute. - have tried it and it works superbly. Reply with any questions please

The truth is I tried to patent it but it costs almost 10000 dollars just to see if its worth it

Somehow I think someone already patented it!  I'm gonna do a search.
OK no patent found, but I did find this

5. What is the coldest I can get a beverage with the Cooper Cooler?

You can't get the re-circulating water lower than its freezing point (32°F/0°C). You can't get the beverage colder than the re-circulating water, but you can get it to that temperature if you run an extra long Cooper Cooler cycle.

However, if you add a solute (like salt or ethanol) to the recycling water to lower the freezing temperature, you can chill your beverage below the freezing temperature of water. BE WARNED. SALT WILL CORRODE THE UNIT AND VOID THE WARRANTY. Ethanol in the form of ordinary spirits works well, although it can get expensive.

But hey! its definitely a great idea!!!

I thought it shrunk and expanded from the different temperatures.

You are so clever you figured out how to see all of my posts at once and then made a clever remark about it. The other option is you can try it yourself before you make any clever remarks

No but seriously how does someone patent salt water  :) You need a whole contraption. this idea works beautifully in a house with a small freezer. Actually a friend of mine in mit told me about this concept. I just went home after shabbos and tried it myself it was awesome.

I'm sure you didn't originate the idea, or at least you aren't the only one. When did you first think of it?

I spoke to a friend of mine from mit abt 2 years ago. I know I didn't think of this idea first, the trick is using it in every day life
