Need good vacation place

Im looking for a friend, for a place to go on vacation. Her specifications for me was.. it needs to be hot and in the month of january. I am making this post in regard to 2 different things
1- where is a good place for her to go for a few days
2- what CC can she sign up to that she would get enough points for A-a flight B-a hotel fast enough for her travel.
If anyone has any insight that would be wonderful

If she isn't from miami then I would say maybe signing up for a citi card with a promo of 40000 miles (if she spends a certain amt) to take care of flight. And then sign up for a starwoods or classic american express card to take care of hotel stay

I find that aa miles post fairly quickly (she can fly endish of jan) and starwoods posted as soon as I spent money

Im sorry.. but shes from NY (u know NYers dont really need to specify where their from) and not miami.. somewhere nice and warm... (Caribbean, Bahamas, Cancun ... (im not familiar honestly) thanks for your help everyone...

If going to the Bahamas etc, Keep in mind that if you want guaranteed warmth in January, you should get as far from the US as possible.

Assuming all this the miles will not post until late jan early feb. Then she has to find flights available for her dates be willing to pay 75$ for less then 21 days and be able to leave right away. possible but improbable
