Without looking into it, I feel as if prior to Aventura being established, it was Turnberry.
Now Aventura expanded beyond what Turnberry used to be. As Turnberry now consist of basically the Resort and Golf course.

He may be confusing the Turnberry Towers which is a condo next door to the Safra shul. Turberry hotel and resort is a 25 minute walk from the shul.

im not confusing. Like A3 said that whole area around safra shul is called turnberry. It might not be official but that is how it's known. There is a reason why you have buildings called turnberry tower and turnberry aisle etc.

The only places I've heard to as referred to Turnberry these days are the Turnberry buildings...
And the conversative Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center.

Sorry just saw this now. I stayed in the Z Ocean which is on 15th & Collins & the Edition. The Edition in my opinion was a lot calmer didn't have that feel at all AFAICR.

Loved it lobby is stunning rooms are great. Im not gonna go into all the standard Miami Beach stuff such as on the beach 2 pools free bikes…  There's a small bowling alley ice skating rink & club in the basement I've seen reviews of ppl complains about the club but wasn't an issue when I was there. Service & feel of the place was great, always ppl there to help 2 bottles of ice water in my car every time they brought it for me all workers wearing white very resort type of feeling. I felt like the crowd was 25+ wealthy type like going to an older more sophisticated bar.  Booked on points was upgraded to partial ocean view & when checking out was comped any extra charges on my acct such as a drink from the bar fruit from the dining room… the bartender actually knew what kosher is so we created a drink together. The cherry on top was they never took the points for the stay out of my acct. Somebody must've messed up when they created the booking because I was almost not charged resort fees either. I said something about that so they charged me but they never took my points. Lots of not full sentences but this is what stands out in my mind a year later. If you have any other q plz ask

I booked standard was upgraded to partial ocean view without too much asking. The most you'll get is prob a full ocean view. AFAICR  Their suites are a diff wing & I don't think that's gonna happen. My friends father is a plat with Marriott for awhile does a lot of traveling & exclusively stayed in Marriott hotels for years & they wouldn't give him a suite after that he dumped Marriott.
