Does anyone know of an empty spot on a beach anywhere in the Miami area where I could take my kids to the beach and most probably not encounter other people? During the week, not on a weekend

I'm surprised nobody here discussed The Carrot (meat/veg eatery) in Surfside.
What I love about this place and what makes it so unique is the combination of healthy, delicious, and well priced food (a break from it's high-priced neighbors).
My number one recommendation there is the Liv Wrap. They also make great smoothies.
I am not affiliated with anyone at this eatery, in case you were wondering. I simply love their food.
Every time I'm in south FL I make sure to stop at The Carrot and fill myself up silly and also take food for the road (I also tell them every time to open a branch in NY).

To preempt, I don't apologize if the thought of healthy food at a restaurant is in your mind despicable.

Just so that you know before, this is more of a sit-down juice bar type of ambiance (with outdoor seating). They do serve hot food though. 
Don't expect a romantic candle-lit diner, it's very much not that.

I know this type of place is not exactly hip, but if you come with an open mind and try it out, you may enjoy.

Besides ZAB, any notable bakeries in South Florida? Locals here complain for a lack of good "New York" style kosher bakeries, particularly for bagels.
