JJ1000's list of top restaurants and dishes in Miami:

1. Backyard BBQ (New chef in mid 2017 totally new menu): Burnt ends, 2nd cut brisket, Dinosaur Rib, BBQ Sundae, BBQ Burger, Lemon/Apple/Smores desserts.

2. Fuego: Flatbreads are a must, then the back ribs, pastrami egg rolls, smores dessert, perfect date drink are good. (Update March 2017, the app chef and bbq chef isn't there anymore and the quality has been spotty from recent reviews.)

3. 26: Sushi pizza is  a must I prefer it with baked salmon, then the Passion Mojito, Sushi Teriyaki tempuraed, Cilantro Aioli dip and truffle fires, all of their soups are good.

4. Zak The Baker. Menu changes too often to recommend stuff. Not Cholov Yisroel.

5. Kosh: Chocolate souffle and korean beef with extra sauce are good.

6. Foozo: Foozolis, the caprese foozoli with extra balsamic sauce, their pastas are good as well.

Also notable unique places are The Freeze which makes ices, serendipity makes ice cream (there is one next door to ZTB now), and Miami Beach Chocolates turtles and bark.

Wanna eat early dinner, late lunch.. Need something either 41st street or Bal Harbor area. Backyard BBQ opens their smoker only at 5pm. What are my other options?

Spoke with them now. They actually do. What is it? Pulled brisket?  Does it pay to go just for that?  Need some additional food. This meal will have to keep me full until  tomorrow morning..

Yes, BBQ burger is out of this world.

There's other stuff worth getting for lunch as well. Great desserts too.

Would it make sense to drop off my wife and the luggage by the terminal and drive to car rental return and the return the car and come back to the terminal and check in with the family? Rather than schlepping the whole family back and forth..

Also can I take a cab from the car rental return straight to departure terminal?

This is more general travel questions than specific to SoFlo. Start a new thread and I'll write about my strategies.

Agreed. However Miami is a known airport to be a major hassle with car rental. I'm on  the go all day now and don't have the head to properly open a new thread. I'd appreciate short input. Especially on the part if I can take a cab from car rental to terminal. Would make life a lot easier.

If anyone has a gas receipt  from Sunday in Fort Lauderdale or Miami, please PM me. I need a photo of one to send to a rental agency, to prove that I purchased gas before returning my car. TIA.

(A screenshot of a cc statement, would also suffice).
Anyone?

It's a ballagan at many airports. Same advice applies.
