Would it be a better idea to stay in the Miami Area over the Fort Lauderdale Area? I can also stay at the Four Point on Miami beach.
I am looking for a quieter beach, with less people from December 20-24.

Not sure anything in Miami beach or Fort Lauderdale Beach are quiet at the end of the December. That is prime season.

Ft Lauderdale should be quieter than Miami Beach... But by no means does that mean it will be quiet

How is the 4P for a Shabbos/weekend trip? Seems like the cheapest points option in Miami Beach. Not sure why I didn't notice it before.

Never personally stayed there, but I understand it's not awesome and quite alot of spg

12K doesn't seem crazy unless it's really a dump. Pics seem decent...

Stayed there twice and wish I had the SPG points back and just booked another similar hotel for cash. It's not a dump but it's nothing special by any means. Great location for kosher though.

From what I understand the hotel is very basic but nice and clean. It's about the best location possible for access to 41st street.

The beach is going to be busy but yeah it's a very nice beach.

We are pool people but beach is typical and same as any other hotel I imagine. I was in a suite one of the times, just a tiny little addition that has a couch. Whatever, don't spend much time in the rooms. That was a bad overall experience though the hotel smelled slightly mildewy and my room smelled exremely like mildew and we had to switch rooms. I did 48k for 5 nights with 5th night free and got 10k for complaining. It very well was probably just one off time but it turned us off. Decided I would rather spring for a little more money and just stay at a nice place. I'm going to the Eden Roc sunday.

Yea.. changed my mind.. I had free nights.. decided to sell the nights on the forums. Book eden roc through citi travel center with prestige 4th night free. Make money on it. That hyatt just didnt seem special enough.

Aren't the W south beach and St. Regis Bal Harbour on the beach? Or does it need to be Miami beach. Granted both are 30k. I just stalked Dan's 5 Miami TR and besides for renting a house he has done those 2 hotels twice lol. I don't know if there is anywhere else worth staying for points?

Those aren't Miami Beach. While I would consider those options, people have recommended staying in MB for my first Miami experience.

How was the parking situation at the W when you recently went with silvercar? Did they charge you per day? Your post didn't say. And what about St Regis?
