If you think I was going to fly NYC-FLL, eat at House of Dog, and then turn right back around to do FLL-NYC, you're more naive than you sound.

Just because one of the prime motivations for FLL would be House of Dog doesn't mean it's the only motivation.

Ok then. Let me rephrase-

So true. The idea of flying in PRIMARILY for "House of Dog" is enough to make me laugh out loud. Its one thing to fly down for a day in the sun and stop by what ostensibly seems like a cool hot dog joint for a bite. But to go down PRIMARILY "to hit up house of dog"....... Don't get that at all.

I haven't had as bad of an experience as other posters but I thought HoD was pretty mediocre too.
On a side note, day trippers to Boca are always welcome to visit. I live about ~3 min up the road from Euro.

Folks, I need some help.  I have some SPG and UR points and want to spend the first Week of Feb down south, possibly over shabbos.  Miami, Deerfield Beach, Boca, etc.  I need to maximize points.  Does anyone know a hotel within walking distance of a shul that doesn't require a boatload of points?  A suite is preffered, otherwise, I have to get two rooms.  Thanks.

Grill Time, in my opinion is from the best restaurants out there. They are very generous & the food is great
the takeout in Boca is very nice, it is near the Kosher Pizza Shop Jon's place (behind Publix, a few minute drive from the Boca Shul).
if you want take out in Miami Beach, you have Kastners on 41st Street, also not bad.

to Sowhat: I mentioned earlier in this post there are houses in North Miami Beach for rent, which is near Minyunim (every possible type), food etc, wouldn't it make sense to sell your miles & stay in a place near shuls for Shabbos.. you could also use your points in Miami Beach four points, or I would check Sunny Isles beautiful area & there are shuls there as well....

Grill time is very good. The lamb ribs as an appetizer are really good. Their Gaza strip steak and regular rib eye are both winners. For desert the chocolate molton cake  rivals the one one from Le Marais.
