Is the "level" of suite that can be obtained with a DSU the same as can be obtained by being a Diamond and simply asking for a suite upgrade?

Technically, though one is confirmed

Okay. I just thought that Diamonds had access to "better" suites. Thanks for confirming that. *Pun*

-1  at least not in my experiences. Always a suite if there available. Sometimes has to be more persistent but always a suite if available at check in.

Is there a problem using my points to book a room under my name and someone else's if I don't show up?

If there is no cash+points availability when I'm planning on using a dsu, and there is suite availability on paid nights - Is there a way for to book that on a c+p rate?

How about switching a reservation from one hotel to another?

Call the diamond line and ask them to call your u back when there is a cancellation and will be available, otherwise, you are out of luck.

Is the DSU available on a C+P night if it were to be available? I had success in "skipping over" the regular rooms with no availability by applying a DSU to the award from the get-go.

That's my question. How? The reps say it's not possible.

Theoretically but not a good idea unless it's your domestic partner (chase rule). Otherwise you're asking for A/A

How strict would Hyatt be in regard to exceeding room occupancy limit by 1 or 2? Is it something I should confirm before I get there, or is that going to raise a red flag?

I have 3 rooms booked at Hyatt Capital Gate AUH, 2 of them have DSUs.

I booked a room with a free night and then emailed someone in the "Executive Office Administration" at the specific hotel about paying for a room upgrade. We agreed to a cash price to upgrade to a suite, but he told me that he modified my reservation in the hotel's internal system and that it won't show up online or by calling HGP and nor can he email me an updated confirmation. Even when I called the front desk at the hotel, they think I'm in a standard room.

Sounds like I shouldn't trust this guy. (No, I haven't paid the cash yet.)

I'm assuming the cash would be paid on arrival? What could go wrong.
I personally like that kind of management,  There greediness tend to side with me

I assume that (or checkout) but what could go wrong? I get there and the clerk says we have no record of a suite in your reservation, and all our suites are booked.
Come again? What is he doing that's greedy?
