If you have an hp 8610 printer DO NOT upgrade yet.

To save yourself frustration, don't upgrade to Win10 yet. Too many issues.

To upgrade to Windows 10:

Quote
GXN is a small utility that helps you upgrade your current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Preview installation to Windows 10 RTM without any waiting or reservation.

This tool provides a few enhancements over the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. As an example, GXN is able to identify and clean up temporary files from previous failed installation attempts, thus lowering the chance of setup not working significantly. GXN will continue receiving updates for the app itself and will always provide the most up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Microsoft offers.

These are the following prerequisites you need for GXN to work properly:

.NET Framework 4.5
Windows 7 or newer
An active internet connection
Administrator rights
Please report any bugs you've found using DMs on Twitter, @Whistler4Ever.

If you want to install Windows 10 on a computer that does not have an internet connection, use this:

is there any way to have my customized start menu sync across multiple computers?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

I never used a microsoft account because I don't need microsoft spying on me but if you do I wonder if it will sync.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Do you mean like office 365, outlook? Care to elaborate? And why is microsoft more spying than any other accounts?

Starting with windows 8 Microsoft wants you to sign in to windows with a microsoft account which helps microsoft track you
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

So you still use windows 7? And what is this any different than any other accounts you may have (gmail, chase online etc.)? They obviously have a privacy policy.

No I just don't use a Microsoft account in windows 10 (Microsoft tries very hard to hide that option) as far as their privacy policy, its very not private even with a local account unless you use the custom settings and disable all their snooping options ( you can do that afterwards in the privacy section of settings)
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

No offense (& I can delete this post if so you wish) buy isn't that related with paranoia? If anything I'd be more afraid of hackers getting into google or microsoft and do bad things with what they obtain. But the companies themselves can be held liable by law for any dirty business.

No it's not really paranoia if you saw whats in their privacy policy you would be shocked.

any google,fb, yahoo and any other tech company privacy policy? its all the same. They have to have long privacy policy to cover themselves legally. The only difference is Google sells your info to marketers to sell ads. MSFT does not. and windows 10 you did not pay for.

You always pay for windows. If you had windows 7 or 8 you got a free upgrade to 10, but you still paid for windows

you can stay with windows 7 which is what you paid for then you wont have any of these issues.

Also I am not sure how this is different then every single website on the internet that tracks you. I think it all comes down to what they do with the info. Google- selling the info to sell you ads. Microsoft using the info to make windows better.
