If you have an hp 8610 printer DO NOT upgrade yet.

To save yourself frustration, don't upgrade to Win10 yet. Too many issues.

To upgrade to Windows 10:

Quote
GXN is a small utility that helps you upgrade your current Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 Preview installation to Windows 10 RTM without any waiting or reservation.

This tool provides a few enhancements over the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. As an example, GXN is able to identify and clean up temporary files from previous failed installation attempts, thus lowering the chance of setup not working significantly. GXN will continue receiving updates for the app itself and will always provide the most up-to-date copy of Windows 10 Microsoft offers.

These are the following prerequisites you need for GXN to work properly:

.NET Framework 4.5
Windows 7 or newer
An active internet connection
Administrator rights
Please report any bugs you've found using DMs on Twitter, @Whistler4Ever.

If you want to install Windows 10 on a computer that does not have an internet connection, use this:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

I know it's not an Apple product so I'm not sure if it deserves its own thread...    ;D

Anyways, looks like you can get the technical preview here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview

Has anyone tried it?

I'm downloading it now. From What I've seen of the demo there seems to be about four 'exciting features'.

The best thing about Windows 10, is that you are actually going to be able to search for it on this forum. 10 = two digits  ;D

You can search for anything by adding quotations around it.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Interesting theory:

http://www.cnet.com/news/is-this-why-microsoft-named-it-windows-10/?part=propeller&subj=news&tag=link
IMO, the marketing aspect, not the technical is the real reason.  The technical coding advantages are convenient, but when did the marketing dept at MS ever start listening to the developers?

Ok. After testing it out my first impression is that it is hard to imagine how much time and money went into 'overhauling' Windows with 4 new features.

Overall I'd have to say: 'Eh'

I can't believe they still don't have a feature that allows you to copy multiple strings of text and then select which one to paste from a list.

It would make life so much easier.

OR how about a feature that would delay deletions for 24 hours to allow for mistaken deletes.

Apple just put that in iOS 8 for photos. It is simple and brilliant.

Shadow copy keeps multiple versions.
