Since October 12, 2015, the prepaid REDcard (Redbird) can only be loaded at Target with cash. It can still be loaded online with a bank-issued debit card, up to $200/day and $1K/month.

Therefore, for MS (manufactured spending) Redbird is now considered dead. RIP!

Tri state is the center of the universe. therefore if most places in new York are cs only so too all places are cs only.
Got it.

Any Target location that requires you load at CS, a walmart in the same area will have the same rule.

Data point and a quick little story:
1. Target in Watertown, MA, requires loading only at CS. They do it happily there.
2. I met a guy yesterday who didn't look frum, and probably wasn't even a Yid, but I just knew from the way he walked with a purpose from parking lot that he was headed into CS to load.  Sure enough, I was right behind him in the CS line.  I think I freaked him out a bit when I said to him, under my breath, "Dan's Deals."  It took him a moment, but he responded and we had a quick little chat about loading, how he wonders what he'll do  with all his AGC, how he also had AFT.... I love this hobby!

Just to be clear, this is only if you're depositing all that cash from Redbird to a bank account, right? This 1099 will never be triggered if you just billpay a cc, correct?

1099????? WTH?
eh...

Most Targets are CS only and they'll see you running around...

I've never loaded at CS.

The first day after CVS stopped taking CCs for VR was also the day that JJ got engaged. So what is today?

So what do us Brooklyn folks do now? They always want a name on card
I just had Gateway allow 2 swipes of $500 each and my daughter was only allowed 1. They were none too happy about GC with her but mine, they were fine with. VS allowed me 2 swipes no porblems either. Some idiot was trying his CC and when i informed him that CC was dead he asked..."How do you know?".
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

its known as Valley Stream (VS) and yes, they require CS load only. I have only encountered one location in NY that allows cashier loading. All others have been CS for me..

I was there this afternoon and the GSTL did not let me do the VGC. We were pretty friendly too... He was laughing about how he had over 50 customers come in last night to do one last load.
