DDMS: The Best Cards From Barclays Bank

-The Lufthansa Premier Miles & More World MasterCard
You can enroll in the Miles & More program here.

The card has no foreign exchange fees.
Lufthansa miles have a few sweet uses:

3 one-way domestic first class flights on United:
You can fly on Star Alliance partner United in domestic first class for just 17,000 miles each way with no fuel surcharges.  All United flights between JFK and Los Angeles or S. Francisco and several flights from Newark have lie-flat seats in business class.  Plus you can still order hot kosher meals between JFK and Los Angeles or S. Francisco in business class.  United charges 25,000 of their own miles each way for these seats, so youíll save 8,000 miles each way via Lufthansa. Within 24 hours Lufthansa does allow free cancellations even on United medal.

Remember to book one-way flights as a round-trip business class is 35,000 but they charge half the price and round down for one-way so itís only 17,000 each way.

4 one-way coach tickets:
A one-way coach ticket within the US on United will run 12,000 miles.

Business class to Europe:

Business class to Europe is 52,000 miles each way and there are no fuel surcharges on Lot Polish which flies 787s with an excellent lie-flat business class to Warsaw. (Note that United.com canít search for LOT Polish flights if you use that to search for Star Alliance awards).
Availability is excellent.

Hawaii:

Business class to Hawaii (including lie-flat seats on flights from Houston and Newark) is just 35,000 miles each way when booked with Lufthansa miles flying on United with no fuel surcharges.  Thatís a 10,000 mile savings on a round-trip flight compared to using United miles.
Coach is 20K miles each way, a 5,000 mile savings on a round-trip flight compared to using United miles.

Israel based account:
If your Lufthansa account is registered with an Israeli address then you can book tickets from Israel using the much cheaper Europe award rates.  A flight from Israel to the US will be prices like a flight from Europe to the US. (now must call to get this rate)

Other uses:
Lufthansa First Class has significantly better availability when booked with Miles & More as opposed to programs like United.
There is also much better availability on other airlines like Singaporeís top-notch business class when booked via Miles & More as opposed to programs like United.
Barclays cards can be churned, so you can always start saving up for a dream trip.

From what I've read, there's no way to use Miles and More points to fly from the U.S. to Israel (or even to Europe) without paying exorbitant fuel surcharges. Is this correct? I was thinking of applying for Barclay's Miles and More CC now that they've brought back the 50K bonus.

Can you have M&M hold an award if you don't have enough miles in your account yet?

Anyone had luck getting a rep to open up F space on LH?

Flights on a Sunday and Monday both have the same number of open F seats, but only the Sunday flight has award availability...

Also if you release an award on LX using M&M does the inventory automatically go back to being available?

Or better yet:

If you use UA or AC to put LH on hold, will it automatically go back into inventory, or is it YMMV?
LH wont put it on hold for me because its to close to the flight date.

have all kinds of miss info from MM card ---

Applied for 20k first spend and 30k after $5k spend total 50k,

Statement closed  two days ago with spending starting in early June - no fee charged - no 20k on statement or in MM acct- called Barclay got all kinds of info from different reps

told by first rep--  ur offer is only 30k after 5k spend- you got the lower version -- GOT AUTO APPROVED WITH 10K LINE !!

2nd rep---  ur offer is 35k after first spend 30k when spend 5k -total 65k

3rd rep can not say as never saw this - look in 2 different places see different offers attached to ur card -will open a case and will take 10 days to get info

Also I have friend who also did not get 20k first spend and he was charged the annual fee  on his statement and paid it

any one have any info on this as to what to expect??  as I do not want to complete my 5k spend for 30k  with  a a/f and 30k total

Maybe try this in the Barclay M&M thread-this is for the M&M program itself.

This would be more helpful if it was posted in a readable English.
