Not sure that would be the case. Once earned, you should get them.
I called multiple times and each time the rep said if I close the card before the RD post I forfeit the RD.

-1 If you close your account before the rewards post or before redeeming you'll lose it.

Seriously?
How do you define earned?  The entry in your AMEX statement?
The T&C clearly states that you forfeit the rewards if you close your account black on white so maybe you should stop giving people false hope.  There were plenty of written reports here an FT where people calling in to redeem their rewards/pending rewards and got shot down.

Never seen any reports on auto post of rewards on closed accounts.  To have it autopost, AMEX will need to manually run some batch since by default you have to login and redeem.  I think chances of that happening is nil, unless you force AMEX's hands.

I believe the terms also said that if you got shut down, you lose the money as well. People still got the money..

If they don't post you will have to call. If should not be that big of a deal unless things change from what they are currently doing.

Let's see we have the T&C, FT and here against MP & CM. I know where the smart money will be.

my rewards usually post to the account one month after spending
so that my account was close 2 days ago should I wait 30 days before calling and asking for my rewards or I can do it now?

Rewards auto post but never auto redeem which means you WILL need to call since you can not redeem on a dead account online.  Is that what you are suggesting people do?

By "they" I assume you meant AMEX, so exactly what they are currently doing?

So if I close my card say tomorrow (on my own - yes I would be surrendering defeat), I should be able to call in a month later and have a check sent for my rewards earned that didn't post yet? are you "guessing" this will work, or have there been cases where this has been confirmed to work?

IME, they will only redeem the money when/after it would have posted on the statement.

I have this card and am worried like everyone else.  Anyone closed it proactively yet?  If so were u able to still get reward dollars that were coming?   I'm on the fence and feel the end is very near - like dan said....I'm thinking long term.  I'd lose about 1k RD.

Also, do authorized users get black mark as well  if the primary card is closed?

I am thinking of same thing.  but don't want sour relationship with AMEX.
