Thanks for being modeh b'miktzas* but what do you even mean they are not needed for the first year? Are you saying buying clothes once per year is reasonable?

*Being not yeshivish I am very proud of myself when I can throw in a lamdush term so please let me enjoy this moment... ahhh
Lol.

Typical the Chosson and Kallah usually buy a new wardrobe of cloths before they get married, with that being the case why would new clothing need to be bought for the first year?

I did not know of that custom - but now I'm confused, why is that excluded from the S"R budget?

Sometimes people need to buy maternity clothing after they get married.

PS: I think you mean to use the word clothes, not cloths.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Does that include meat ?

Yes but we are not big meat eaters (i.e. steak for dinner every night).

I am shocked that no one jumped on the side dishes. If you are trying to save money then don't buy take out for for shabbos at all. How much can a few potatoes cost to MAKE a kugel? Is it really important to buy dips? I have no problem of you want to buy it, but if you do then you are not saving money. Someone can make it much cheaper by not buying these stuff.

That's fine, but it's not unreasonable to have another side like chicken cutlets ( not from takeout :) )

No offense, but who are you to decide what's reasonable or unreasonable for someone else

It's an opinion. Besides, if you've been following this thread I've been "defending" myself from others telling me what's reasonable.

Despise the way this thread is going.. Yes we have to make a budget of our expenses, but there has to be a tzimtzum on that too. Starting to count up every single thing you order down to the cents, is completely ridiculous. Will you resent have orchim over? Because you will have to buy an extra piece of chicken and two more cucumbers and you will to serve a little more fish? May hashem bentch all of us, not to have to deal with this nisayon.

I'm sure this is all subjective but imo london broil is a mid-priced option, if I were looking to cite an expensive example I'd go with brisket.
OT but brisket it cheaper by me then London broil
