3 - How is it possible that the flight from JFK to Baku is 9.5 hours, yet from Baku to JFK it's 13.5 hours? (Moscow to JFK is 9.5 hours.)

Flying West always takes longer. Moscow is over a 3 hour flight from Baku.

The difference is still too great. 9.5 hours east, 13.5 hours west?!
To Moscow is 9 hours, back is 9.5.
Something doesn't seem right.

I agree, 4 hours difference in eastbound and westbound is not the norm.

Yes, I'm also curious! I booked jfk tlv for mid February ($599 RT!) on a 787 cross-Atlantic. What I've learned so far:

A) you can get seat assignments on the JFK legs by emailing their customer service with a request. I asked for window in front part of coach cabin and got it.
B) seat map does not match their website or seatguru. (Maybe the switch to 787 but I don't think so.) So let customer service translate your seat request into a row number.
C kosher meal confirmed but no info on hechsher.
D) no visa ndd and 2 bags seems correct.

No info on which seats lose their leg room to the video hardware.

I had options to open jaw to Beijing for five dollars more (! ) and to stay over in Baku (Chabad in Baku and in a Jewish City that sounds fascinating) but I turned then both down for lack of time.

Did someone say partner with air France? Any info on how?

Any other info? Tia.

Is this something the rep offered you, or you just figured it out when playing with the booking routing?

.
Used kayak.com. Note that like most websites, searching for TLV never showed Azerbaijan air. I had to put in a multi city trip to even find them. After that, it was fun to play with open jaws to their other destinations, and for one way (cheap!) and the like.

I use Momondo and Fareboom.
It shows up on both.

You mean the exit row?

Oddly, on Fareboom it shows a different seating chart for the flight from JFK to GYD than the one back from GYD to JFK even though both of these legs are using Boeing Dreamliner 787.

Might have something to do with font size and/or screen orientation.

these fares aren't available to book with amex plat. what makes some fares bookable with them and some not? sorry for a very clumsily worded question.
