-All Israeli rental agencies will force you buy 3rd party liability even with a World Mastercard, but they will force you buy more expensive insurances if you don't have a world Mastercard.
w/o a World CC you will need to purchase both 3rd party liability and CDW, the CDW usually has a deductable to it as well , so you can count on paying I think the 1st $500 or they will Gladly sell you a premium CDW that comes w/o a deductable. If you have to buy both CDW and 3rd party , they will charge you less then what each goes for alone. eg 3rd party is $14 and reg CDW $7, they charge say $18 for both
all they want is that when you drive away the car is covered for both CDW and 3rd party, if you have a CC that covers both then you shouldnt have to buy either, but I havent seen a CC that covers 3rd party so far.
No CC covers 3rd party liability, its not Israel alone , I believe Italy and Ireland have the same policy. And Costa Rica does for sure.
However Avis has now joined Eldan, giving in to the pressure from World MC that if you want to switch CCs when you return the car that the new CC must also pay for the CDW, so no more using a World to rent and then when returning if nothing is damaged switching to Amex. The good thing is my Chase CO World didnt charge me the 3% since the charge was outside the US at least this past time.
