I hope a Rav wouldn't pasken based on some quick reading on DDF. Someone not familiar with the industry isn't going to find the information they need anywhere online.

I'm saying if the rav needed more information im order to pasken, he'd have to speak to someone in the industry, not just Google it.

Should he ask a broker who will know all of the potential shtick to get it done that the seller may not be required to allow him to do on his account? We see in every thread like this that the brokers have a vastly different view of their entitlements that the average person, even one familiar with miles and using them.

My point was only that in order to understand how this industry works, you'd have to speak to someone in it, or at least very familiar with it. I wasn't saying what the rav should base his decision on.

That is something a Rov will always try to get a feel for. Some things are like that and some not. Typically when reviewing a shaylo a Rov will try to get initial research and then see if they need to dig deeper. That it pretty similar to the way anyone would research any random topic.

It is also part of why one cannot pasken choshen mishpat without hearing both sides.
