Do you have to have SQ miles in order to search?  It's not showing anything for that day.  United had many (expensive) choices.
As you mentioned its Saver but only for cardmembers so thats XN space, not gonna show up on partner award search.

If you want to fly that route specifically, and on *A cheapest is SQ at 27.5k, although if your flying LH it will be with YQ.
Thans for the info. It's a partner airline (not LH) and UA metal. So no YQ? Also Chase/Amex/SPG transfers to SQ all take 1-2 days?

SQ charges YQ on most (if not all) *A members other then themselves and UA.

How can I found out how much? PUTPAC? Any better options than using UA miles for *A partner airlines from Europe?

Might be able to figure it out from Matrix. But best is PUTPAC.

OZ is only 25k (but only an SPG transfer partner, so technically 20k). Not sure what / if they charge for YQ. Although it can take 1-2 weeks for the points to transfer.

If that's not an option, then if SQ is low or no YQ, book with SQ. Otherwise, with UA.

3rd party traveler or airline?

They should be able to book any star alliance partners with partner saver award space available.

Called SQ, they said cheapest for OW is 40k, even though I see eco saver available at 30k on the UA site.

Decent value for this specific itinerary.
Reports are 1-4 days transfer from SPG to DL.
Do you have any regular Amex to transfer? Those are instant..

The points finally transferred but now the price shot up  :'( :'(

Is there anything I can do? Would calling them and explaining help  :-\
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

So how does everyone do it? Are you supposed to just keep miles by every airline just in case?

First, youre not supposed to use SPG for DL, ever.

just buy the DL on the grey market. SPG are so hard to get. I always think 10Xs before I use any. They are so flexible which makes them extremely valuable
