HELP PLEASE: I am trying to help get a family (8 ka"h) to Miami for Chanukah and need to cover air and hotel. Have SPG points. Looking for direction, maybe flights and nights? I know I just missed the United bonus, but I would not have received the bonus miles until January and it looks like they are now 25K on most flights now for those dates anyway.

Does it make sense to transfer SPG-Marriott-Delta/Jetblue for tickets and then use the nights for something like Turnberry in Aventura using extra Marriot points to cover one of the rooms needed? Any other ideas please???

You dont say how many SPG points you have.

Still makes sense to transfer 90k SPG to 270k Marriott and then transfer to UA for 132k plus 7 night Category 1-5 certificate and upgrade certificate with additional Marriott points from SPG transfer if you have them.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Thanks for the reply! Have about 300K SPG.

If United is now going to be 37.5-50K round trip (and also hoping I can get around the late booking fee), does it not make sense to get 120K delta which is 25K round trip or 60K JetBlue which as of now is about 11K round trip?

Also, how long till Marriott points post to any of these partners?

IMO to transfer your SPG to any of the other programs through the Marriott travel package would be a waste. Particularly B6. If B6 is 11k the revenue cant be that bad. Sell SPG and book revenue.

Understood. But I need the hotel anyway (3 rooms) which I was going to use spg for anyway. Am I making a mistake with that in the first place?

Economy plus is not an upgrade. It's available as a separate purchase. If booking with Amex it's considered a regular ticket just like any other travel agent
Nice. Thanks so much. So I should be able to purchase E+ separately on United.com, presumably under manage my booking, right?

10k UA

Sometimes cash prices that route are very cheap and it might be cheaper to use chase Saphire points.

CZ-China Southern. What program is the best? DL and FB want each 200/250 for R/T. KE sees no inventory. Any other alliance?
