Important Information if you own and use the 5 button Kaba Simplex Locks

There have been a number of robberies in the neighborhood recently. Some have been attributed to the use of the Kaba/Ilco Simplex 5 button locks.  If you have such a lock that was purchased prior to October 2010 and have not had it retrofitted with the shield, you could be asking for trouble.  These locks can be opened by placing a strong rare earth magnet on the side of the lock, without even having the combination.

If you have such a lock, you can either call your locksmith or you can call Kaba Customer Service at 1-800-849-8324 to receive such a shield at no cost.  Note: This shield comes with instructions but does require the lock to be disassembled to install the shield.
