Ive heard great things about Quebec city, but we havent been to Montreal yet, and would be nice to be there for Canada day.

Thanks for your help. Whats the best area to stay? in the middle of the city/ Old City etc..?

Thanks.

Depends what you're looking for... To get the Montreal vibe, you have to be downtown or in a boutique hotel in Old Montreal

Just to sum up the latest impressions on the Kosher Restaurants:

La Marguerite: Got most of our Shabbos food from here. Enjoyed the food and the prices were good (I might be totally slanted from NYC prices). The Challah there might have been the best thing that I had.

Cheskies: Cheese products were as good as described in Dan's old posting. Basked items (cookies/cakes) were also good.

Ernie and Elllies: Huge menu, but the food was very good, I especially enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich.

Chops: Expensive, even more so than some of the NYC steakhouses, but the steaks were very good!

Thanks for the original postings and recommendations, they were pretty dead on.
