Keep calling CO.  The waitlist doesnt always work.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I don't agree with Dan. In my experience flights (even when it's a little busy like Thanksgiving weekend) will usually open up 2 seats within 48 hours of the flight. What Dan may mean is that sometimes it's available but they forget to call you or email you. So you need to keep checking your itinerary online.

My brother and a friend had been booked through FRA both ways, and both direct flights opened up for them.

I must say though if you are interested you should definitely consider the 15,000 one way or 30,000 RT addition per pax to go swiss First which I just flew and had the best First I've ever been on. LX has been opening flights recently in F within a few days of the flights.

thanks for the info, guess i'll keep calling and checking online, and of course keep praying, :) as for swiss eli,was it direct to new york or i'm assuming thru zurich? we are limited on time so prefer no stopover, although on the return wouldn't mind, how do i check availability? i'm flying with an infant so first would cost more fdor the infant ticket though.

Swiss flies LAX-ZRH-TLV.  LAX-ZRH would be awesome in F.

You've been in F on LH too, right? Which was nicer?

+100, at least for the in-air product.
Obviously the LX lounge cant compare with the LH FCT in FRA.

If you really want to try both on the one trip and have some time, flying LX F will get you into the LH FCT.
But you'll have to fly the extra leg to FRA...

You can only book ELAL coach or Biz with AA.

LX way better than LH. I'm not sure why...I just slept much better. Seats are both completely lie flat but LX seemed more comfortable. I liked the 2 middle seats that my wife and I had. I've also flown F on Thai and LX was better than that as well.

We didn't have kosher food so I can't comment on that.

The LX lounge looks like a regular PC or RCC in EWR - nothing special - except that they drive you to the plane. Although flights from ZRH to the US need to go through double security so they drive you to the terminal, not all the way to the plane.

The kicker is that after transferring 30,000 to cover the extra mileage, CO never debited the miles!

Assuming that the TG flight in F wasn't one of Jet Airways planes leased to TG.
You can get those from CDG and NRT to BKK.
