It shows a discount based on the income you enter but it gets reconciled on your tax returns. The changes to deductible and OOP max stay even if your income is much higher than entered.

That is one of the reasons I personally dislike the exchanges. If you want to "benefit" from it מ׳דארף זיך אויסטאהן נאקעט. I would rather pay a little more and keep everything private.

Legalizing toeiva "marriage" is also HEAVILY intertwined with the IRS. All of the sudden many idiots became subject to the "marriage tax penalty" just so they can claim "equality".

I would think anyone who got a premium credit in 2017, will still need to file the 1095a for 2017 in 2018, but everyone will be able to get away without having insurance (or a way cheaper, non ACA plan) and not have a penalty for 2017 when they file in 2018. But who knows what will happen with this proposal in congress

There was once a different push to get insurance to be regulated on a national (federal) level, rather than the states. To a certain extent, the current Obamacare and proposed replacement provide a certain level of Federal regulation to health insurance. Would we needs states to agree to cede that power to the federal government?

I got a letter that based on my income I'm not eligible for Medicaid any more and need to buy health insurance
Is NYS exchange the cheapest?
Did anyone hear of Liberty Health Share, are they worth anything?

Where are you located? Did you have a significant increase in income, or just marginal? If only marginal, you might qualify for Essential plan for free or very low cost. PM if you need any further help.

Before you go the "Health Share" route, you should realize what it is. It is NOT insurance. Also ask your LOR if you are allowed to participate in a "Health Share Ministry".

Next step up from Essential is qualifying for subsidies on the exchange (and if you get a silver plan, you might also qualify for CSR - cost share reduction).

For those on the Healthcare.gov Exchange:
Federal law requires that the Company give you 90 days before cancelling your policy for default of payment. IME I had no claims for Aug-Oct of 2016. My Account was in default and in November they cancelled my coverage retroactively which made no difference as I had no claims regardless! (This happened to me by mistake as a 90-Day Default Account means that you were behind even as little as 1 penny for a period of 90 days. I hadn't realized that)
Now that the penalty is not being enforced you won't be hit by that either.
So basically as long as you have no claims during Oct-Dec, you don't pay for Oct-Dec and in January they will cancel you retroactively ...
