LTC is the silent elephant in the room, that many (on all sides of the equation: consumers, regulators, government, and to a much lesser extent - insurers) seem to be ignoring. There were lots of problems with the LTC business before the 2008 financial crash. The low interest rate environment just exacerbated those problems that much more - file that under unintended consequences.

As part of Obamacare mess, I find my going from plan to plan every few months. Every time I get a recertification for any of my children things get messed up.

On the latest round, I found my self on Medicaid and my full price insurance terminated by the state, as I (according to them) make to little to pay for my insurance. I was offered the option to appeal it!

Now as now one had notified me of this change, not my full priced insurer nor NY state of health, I find myself on straight Medicaid till the end of the month.

I'm looking for a pharmacy in NYC that takes straight Medicaid?

If you call Medicaid they might be able to give you a pharmacy name that will take it. It might not be easy to get to, but there should be something out there. (possibly within hospitals).

Is there anyone who currently has their children enrolled in the NY Child Health Care Plus program and are paying the full premium due to income ineligibility? I'm trying to find out how much I would have to pay if I'm not income eligible for the cheaper rate and any input would be great.

Someone's child turned 19 and was knocked off of NJ FamilyCare automatically at the end of Nov but the family was not told anything at all. Now that it is past open enrollment they need a letter that they lost insurance. HMO says to go to NJFC, NJFC says the can't give a letter since there is a renewal for the younger kids pending. Now she is stuck without coverage but can't buy.
