Starwood cards for Husband and Wife

Hi, I am not sure if this was mentioned yet but I couldnt find it anywhere. Can I apply for the personal and business Starwood Amex for myself and both for my wife at the same time to get total 40,000 bonus points? also how soon can I apply for more cards in order to churn more points? Thanks.

Yes you can get 40K that way, and Starwood will let you transfer the Starpoints all into one account.
AMEX generally wont let you apply for a 2nd consumer or business card though until about a month after you cancel the first.

So Basically as soon as the points are in my account i can cancel both Business cards and then reapply for both? (in the forums it seems churning the Bus. card works more often than the pers.)

Yes, but you may have to wait about 30 days after you cancel the card to reapply.

You cant officially churn any credit card, it's all a matter of luck!  (Considering my mileage balances I guess you can say I'm lucky!)

So then how do you keep a Starwood card for actual purchases (yes, earn points the old fashioned way) if you're constantly canceling it?

i don't get it - why do u have to cancel, can't u just transfer the balances?

I assume in order to get another set of bonus points you can have an active card with the same rewards that already got this bonus.

but you wouldnt get 10,000 points per card if you got two cards on the same acount. (i.e.one for yourself and one for your wife) it needs to be two seperate accounts right?

im not sure if u were answering my question and i see i didnt explain myself correctly. If i open an account and request two cards. one for my wife and the other for myself, do i only get 10,000 points for that account or is it 10,000 per card thats requested for that account? just curious..

you have to apply for seperate accounts for you and your wife in order for each of you to get the bonus.

Yes you have to open individual accounts. You might as well double the points!
