Manila is a pretty large city, and there are hotels in various areas. Makati (the Wall Street area of Manila) that is the home of the Jewish community in Manila has a number of nice hotels. The top of the line is the
Raffles Makati, a suite-only hotel that occupies 2 floors of the Fairmont hotel, with it's own entrance and lobby. The only issue there is that the hallways smell. The rooms are very nice, as is the service (though heating up sealed meals can be a pain since they insist on not allowing you to do it on your own). Another nice one is the
Peninsula. The service is less oppressive than the Raffles, and while the rooms were not as nice, I preferred the stay. The one closest to the shul and accommodates guests on Shabbos (no electronic doors etc) is the
Picasso.
