Southwest Airlines During IRROPS
« on: January 09, 2015, 05:07:39 AM »
WN cancelled a lot of flights to and via MDW today due to weather.

After waiting on hold for an hour, a supervisor insisted that in his 8 years with the company, they've never rebooked on another airline due to IRROPS. It's either re-accommodation or refund.

He did seem competent, but that doesn't seem right to me due to DoT regs or whatever.

Anyone know if that's accurate?

The DOT has never ruled that airlines are required to rebook you on another carrier during IRROPS.

If they rebook you, be happy. If not, blame it on the God of weather.

Did they give you a credit? Got $100 last SW flight that was delayed 4 hours due to weather. On a CP ticket :)

Does anybody have any updated DPs? My flight into ATL is delayed which will make me miss the last flight of the night to fll, rep says they don't book on other carriers.

the CEO of WN said on Capitol Hill that when necessary WN employees can rebook onto the airlines
