All jokes aside, the moral of this thread is that you should not trust someone just because he/she/they/it is a DDFer. Investigate before you put yourself at risk. Take into consideration the number of posts and the content of those posts (and your gut feeling).

that's a good idea. If we do it, then can we make 2 threads? One for good experiences and one for bad?
Don't you think it may be a slippery slope? Maybe just have good experience, bad could get bad!

Marco Polo and chucksterace are very helpful. I am glad you mentioned them. Also ilherman. Of course, there are many people who have great content to their posts and share lots of wisdom but the above mentioned stand out as people who will spend time helping you.

yeps ilherman helped me out as well  :)

of course! I was mainly referring to keeping them separate -- purpose would be to access people who have had good experiences and to assist in trust, appreciation, etc...

make a "He helped me"/"He bought for me..."/"He earned my trust when..."/"I got a great 4-Star hotel room when I paid him and he reserved it for me and I did NOT raid the mini-bar/"He paid me right away for my 4-Star hotel room", etc... thread.

What about someone who eats flowers ? Is he trustworthy ? :)

Can you trust and Aussie from Australia? A Barrister from Boston? A Catholic Charedy from Chicago?...

If you want to start a thread of good/bad experiences, go right ahead.
Stupid idea. It will just get cluttered and full of slander. I think the old fashioned way is fine. Out of 1 million posts we have only had a few bad experiences. Everyone you make a deal with, regardless of have much rep they have on DDF, should give references.

If I only get 2/3 and this is the first AsherO post I've seen since he got married, does that mean I'm not such a big ddfer?
