I bet you anything if you asked united before this deal if they cared which country you choose for their site they would tell you to buy a ticket from any country you please. they have it for convenience - if for whatever reason you would like to be billed and that currency, nothing else. and it does not mean you have to be a resident of that country or even be there at the time of booking. This is plain and simple common sense.

This was a clear mistake with the exchange rate, that happen to manifest under the Denmark site. you can discuss the exchange rate mistake if it's ethical or not to buy something when you know the merchant made a mistake, but there was no lying or cheating involved here, plain and simple.

Again, if the airlines would care about your physical location or residents status at the time of purchase they would place such limitations (which can easily be done)

Until such time, one who chooses to pay extra by only shopping the US facing site is leaving money on the table for no good reason
