Wife is coming back from Toronto or ORD. Avios is cheapest with only 9K points on biz class that gives you 3 checked bags. She has a baby under 2 yrs.
Should she check  2 passengers  with one being an infant under 2 and pay more tax and  900 additional avios for the baby?

Or she can check 1 passenger for herself & pay only for her?
The tax coming from Canada to US is so high at $64.

As has been discussed ad nauseum in the past in the Avios thread: it can be done over the phone or at the airport. Taxes should be around $17. However agents over the phone have difficulty doing it, will tell you to do it at the airport. Agents at the airport also have difficulty doing it, so leave yourself an extra 1/2-1 hour.  May be worth it just to pay the 900 Avios and not have to worry.

900 x .012 (approx going rate for Avios) = $10.80
So it's cheaper than the $17 taxes mentioned above.  Or is it Avios in addition to the taxes?

Ok  it was extra 900 avios and & extra $17 tax for lap baby from Toronto to ORD & only 1:26 mins flight. The adult was charged $47 tax. Why is it more expensive? The trip to toronto was only $2.50 from here per person.

She booked round trip AA business class using avios to & from Toronto - ORD.  Does she get free lounge access at ORD AA lounge? Priority security and priority boarding too at both airports?

3check bags  for her &  1 checked bag  for baby is free with this price right?
Thanks
