So, I've read most of this thread and I'm sold. Transferring from H2o to Cricket.

I'll be in a cricket store tomorrow but apparently it's cheaper to buy a sim online in advance.

Where can I buy a sim online for cheap?
If you do it on crickets website you pay $10 for the sim and no activation charge but if you do it in a game stop store they charge $25 activation not sure about a real cricket store

In the store on Ditmas I was able to get the guy to waive the activation fee.

Make sure to get a referral from a Cricket customer before you sign up for $25 credit

If I'm getting 5 phones for $100 is each phone eligible for a referral?

No one answered his question yet. :)

Let me add a little.

Cricket says referral credits won't be given to people on the same account.

What if 5 people opened each opened their own account - each one getting a referral from the other - and then, say, 3 days later merged the 5 accounts into one group account; would the referral credits come through in 75 days (when referral credits are payed out) since the accounts were originally separate or would there be no referral credits since at the point of 75 days all accounts are joined together?

Thanks!

I did it and it worked I had an acct together with my wife I then singed up 3 people with my referral after the accts were open I joined those 3 to my acct for 5 for $100 around 3 months later I got $150 credited to my acct ($25 for each of the accts I referred and the referee also receives $25 so I got 3 x $25 for their accts)

Thanks.

How long after those 3 signed up with Cricket did they merge into your account?

Also, is it possible to receive the referral credits PLUS $50 per line for porting a number?

Don't remember exactly but it was before the end of the first month of service. Also yes I received what at that time was a $100 credit for each acct for porting in a number

Thank you for answering.

I want to refer them, have them open an account, and then merge them into one group account the next day or so.

I hope that gives us the referral credits.

Also, would you know if they refund partial months; for example, if someone signs up for a $50 monthly plan and then ten days later merges his line into a group so his line should be $30 now, 1 - would they refund the remaining of the $50, 2 - and would the people in the group get refunded since now there's another person in the group and their lines should be less?

I hope I'm being clear.

from what I remember since its prepaid there are no refunds so you only get the discount starting the next month. I may be wrong but so maybe call them and ask

They have told me contradictory things and are difficult to understand.

The consensus on HowardForums is that if the lines are merged into a group plan, no one will get the referral credits.

I don't know if this is something new (since it worked for you) or you simply got lucky.

i have cricket for a few months already and they are great ! its better from sprint/t-mobile dono about verizon
you get 10GB LTE for $40 per month (with 5 lines) but if you are smart you can do what im doing... i start the month on the $20 plan, after using up the 2.5GB i switch to the $30 plan and i get another 5GB ..! after i use up the 5GB i switch back to the $20 plan and i get another 2.5GB !! at the end of the game i pay only $25 per month for 10GB LTE ! because i was half of the month on the $20 plan and  half on the $30 plan they charge a total of $25!
i dont know how many times you can change plan but 2 times for sure! i do that trick already for a few months

Does this trick still work?

Presumably, this would also help someone who wants to call Canada here and there, as the lowest plan doesn't include Canada, so raise the plan, call Canada, and lower again.

Am I right?

Also, does changing the plan reset the billing date each time?

Sure. Set your phone number as the forwarding number. Then Download Google Voice app and set it to use GV for international calls.
