Binoculars

In search of a good pair of binoculars, immediate use is for a trip to alaska, but could also be used on future trips. However, the focus is (pun not intended) about the best pair for seeing wildlife from a boat and glaciers from a plane.

8x42 is probably the best combo. Look at Vortex, great product at a decent price.

For glaciers you don't need binoculars, you'll be close enough to appreciate the detail while seeing it in all its grandeur.
