Outlook or something else
« on: April 23, 2015, 03:59:28 PM »
I have Outlook 2007 that I used to sync all my contacts , calendar tasks memos etc with for years with my Blackberry Bold 9650 .

Switched to Iphone 5s about 18 months ago, and have been schlepping Bold with me to Greece and back as a PDA to sync between 2-3 laptops via USB cable

Did a one time , one way sync of all my contacts only  to Iphone , but don't want to load all the calendars etc on my Iphone that syncs with Ipad, unless someone thinks that's OK ?

Feel lost without the Outlook Calendar but maybe its time I move on to newer technology. Don't like The Cloud but sync my contacts are being synced OTA between Iphone and Ipad so maybe I am in denial.

Can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Peter P

I know you said you don't like Cloud, but of all the Web-based calenders, I like Google Calendar the most. It syncs very well, sends email and SMS alerts of upcoming appointments and very easy to add events. You could just type "lunch with xxxx on Tuesday at 1 pm" and it is intuitive enough to add an appointment for upcoming Tuesday for an hour.

Thanks for your answer . Does it gave an onscreen  GUI that I can look at on my laptop , so I can see
what I have to do for the week, etc . I use the outlook calendar as a to do list , and when I don't get something done , I move it to the next week . Old Palm user .

yes google.com/calendar here you can see it all for yourself
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Would I be better off doing initial sync to Google Calendar from Outlook or Blackberry . Should have exact same info but you never know ?
