Few weeks ago flew BA Economy and was surprised to get a kosher meal with real utensils ( Metal forks and knives) and china dishes. Do Business class and First class passengers get their meals like that? Did it makes sense to get a kosher meal with "real stuff"?

Yes. There must have been a shortage of the economy meals so you were upgraded
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

It said Economy Plus so I guess it would make sense.
One thing I dont understand is that they keep   a separate set of dishes that are kosher?

I think they use a brand new set of the airlines cutlery/dishes which becomes part of the regular treif dishes after your use.

The china might have been new but the silverware looked like it was used before.

Thats a different Virgin. Thats Atlantic. Virgin America is the merger partner with Alaska.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

Lucky's stupid trip has got me thinking that maybe amex would let you pay with points with the 50% rebate if you booked EY Residence yourself and then called to have them apply the points since you can't book it through amex travel. Basically the same way you go about booking a SW flight.

You can call Plat travel and they'll book it for you probably (you can also book SW flights that way)

Apparently the way he booked it had to be through an Egyptian travel agency because the point of sale had to be in Egypt so I'm not sure that would work.
