Rav Menchem Mendel of Riminov. This is a famous thing though this 40 days seems to be a modern invention sounds like it's borrowed from kupat ha'ir slogans.

'ה is a hakol yochol, if he lit the candle 40 days i'm sure he had a broken heart by י'ח too,

I think it's inappropriate to ask for a source in this thread, this person that loves to travel was going through some hardship and he was helped he felt it's the right thing to publicize it so he did,
he did not write that you should do this, it would be more appropriate if you start a segula yeshoa thread and debate sources.

anyway the source of the segula can be found in ספר מנחם ציון it does not mention about publicizing or 40 days, all it says is that he said that he will do a favor for who ever lights a candle  לעילו נשמתו.
