I would rather discuss why Shwekey thinks he has has a chance without Yochi!
I guess I missed it what's the story between shweky and briskman?

I'm so curious to see who's going to produce his concert and his next album. Will he do it himself, in which case everyone will be surprised if it's not a dismal failure. Will he go to Schnitzler, Fadida, or Yossi Green? I'm holding my breath to find out.
Supposedly they are still working together just not on contract.
He's due for a CD or major concert as it has been more than a year a half since "Kolot" (btw solid CD imo) usually that's his timetable,  so I guess we'll just have to sit tight.

Yochi Briskman was Shwekey's producer since his first CD (back in 2001). It is well known that Briskman was a lot more than a producer to Shwekey, more like a puppet master. He coached Shwekey completely, and built the image that Shwekey now has. It is therefore interesting to see if Shwekey can survive after his recent break off with Briskman.

It doesn't seem like it. It seems like there is some sort of argument going on. I even heard that HASC 28 (which is a Shwekey/Briskman concert) will not be released on CD/DVD because of a controversy over the rights.

Oh wow! That I didn't hear of.
My sources say Shwekey wanted a bigger cut (it's my understanding that Yochi took more than 50%) and Yochi said go right ahead and try it out see if you can get more.

Every Person has a different taste in music. If you describe what type of music you like and which singers you enjoy, it'll be much easier to make a recommendation.

Does anyone watch הקול הבא?
Do you know what happened to the fact that the next stage was supposed to begin on ל״ג בעומר ?
I have enjoyed it but found the judging to be very inconsistent
I heard that it's continuing next Motzei Shabbos (week after Shavuos).

Interesting. When I heard that they're not releasing it because of the Shwekey/Briskman controversy, it struck me as strange that they had the rights and not HASC themselves. I guess this makes a lot more sense.

Motti Illowitz has a song on his CD which, in my opinion, is an exact copy of Ve'afilu Be'hastura. (sigh.) Track 6, titled B'chol Tzar. It has many parallels (the same exact message, the same vibe, the arrangements, the guitar background, it starts in Yiddish and then goes to Hebrew, etc.) It has potential to make it big, though I honestly hope it doesn't make it as big as Hastura. That song is coming out of my ears!  :-\

There's a beautiful "Kad Yasvun" that came out a year ago on Chaim Yisroel's CD "Sipur Chayai". I'm not a fan of Chaim Yisroel, but I'm blown away by this song. I believe that it is of the caliber that it could be sung in every house on Shavuos, alongside the traditional one and Benny Friedman's. I searched for a link to download just this song, but I couldn't find one. If you have the CD, take it out and listen well to Kad Yasvun. It's WOW!
