Wow! Great TR. Makes me want to go back! I think we went snorkeling the same way you did. The route looks like the one we took.

You mentioned that it's 6 hours of fun, but then it sounds like 4 half hour activities?

Correct. We only stayed for 3 hours, but you're allowed to do activities more than once. They do say jeeping is allowed only once, but a couple behind us were going for their 3rd time. Also, the rafting and swimming activities are at your own pace.

Thursday

We woke up Thursday morning with that bittersweet feeling of a trip coming to an end. We checked out the mini mart in the Westin, and stocked up on food for the day. After breakfast and packing our bags, we went to check out the hotel grounds. There were a couple of pools, swim up bars, and local vendors selling souvenirs. The beach area was quite large, and it was easy to find a secluded spot. It was quite a sunny day and the ocean was beautiful. The different hues of blue were stunning. The water was really shallow and people would be out 30-40 feet standing and drinking (Waiters do serve along the beach but don’t enter the water).

Late checkout at this Westin was 12pm :(. While checking out, I received a notification that our plane was delayed an hour. With some extra time, we decided to go back to the large outdoor mall near the hotel. We scheduled a taxi to take us to the airport, left our bags with the front desk, and crossed the street to the mall. Round 2 at Haagen Dazz ;D. After lounging around, we headed back to the hotel and took our taxi to the airport. At the departures area, we saw an exchange center offering 15MXN per dollar (so we got back pennies after trading our pesos to dollar ::)). Security was a breeze and the flight back to JFK was uneventful.

Once again, I had a great time. Thank you Dan for expanding the knowledge and usefulness of points/miles through your website and this forum.

Just wanted to add another thanks. Your info was useful for our trip last week to CUN.  And, we're planning a return visit, during which we intend to stay either in Playa or Cozumel.  Leaning toward the latter, given how you described the IHG property there!
Thank you.

You're welcome. Couldn't agree more about Cozumel :D

Just read they this awesome tr brought back such fond memories was there summer 2014 on my honeymoon. Great job describing xplor I tried explaining it to people they couldn't get what was so fun about it. I can still feel how hungry I was in the resturant where they grilling sick food fresh in your face and all we were able to eat was the bananas and pears which were very tasty but didn't compare to the ribs burgurs etc.
