Photos disappeared from Samsnug Galaxy s21

I had organized my photos in multiple folders, and one day they just all disappeared.
No new apps downloaded. Nothing done out of the ordinary. Just one minute to the next, they were gone.

I have searched and found that the same happened to others, with no official fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. But the photos are not backed up. when it was deleted I instantly opened google photos, and every deleted image came up as a grey thumbnail, until a few hours later then they disappeared from g photos as well.

No, as it's not in the cloud.

My BIL had this with a CAT phone recently. Very disappointing and they were not backed up with Google Photos. Let me know if you find out more.

I posted above link from samsung community. Apparently it's somewhat common, with no fix. It's very disturbing.
