Are you up for trading *wood for Hyatt points?
How do you plan on trading SPG with the new transfer rules?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Am I not allowed to book a stay for someone else and vice versa?

You can, but you're only SPG Gold, so your stay won't be nearly as valuable as a Hyatt Diamond or SPG Plat stay.

Fair point. I guess I have to stay somewhere else then because there is no way I can shell out $800+/night at the PH in Paris.

I can try re-applying for the Hyatt Card, but I was already denied that back in October.

Denied on what grounds? Did you try fiddling with your credit lines at Chase?

I'm sure someone will trade Hyatt for SPG, I'm just saying I have no clue what the ratio for such a trade would be.

Too many recent inquiries - I had just opened up the AA Amex for 75k

And maybe something else, but I don't remember. Either way, my credit is perfect, never been late and always pay in full. Amex and MC both have increased my credit lines immensely over the last number of years without my asking them.

I would move stuff around with Chase, but I don't have any cards open with them - although my checking account is with them.

If you have 10k or more in an account with them, might want to speak to a banker at your local branch about pushing through the application.

Do you think that will really help? Any banker at one of the tables or a specific table?

Like one of those bankers behind the desks, browse/search this site, it's been discussed before.

How good/bad is the Westin Paris? Seems only so-so from all the reviews I've been reading, but perhaps its worthwhile if its free.

Looked so-so to me too.

It's very close to the Park Hyatt Hyatt, a few blocks further away from the Opera hub than the PH is.

Rather than spending 20K SPG/night there you'd be better off trading some more points than that and get the PH with the free lavish kosher breakfast.

Would love to for the right trade. Anyone open for a trade?

Should I just go straight to the bank and then fill out a new application in person? If it's a joint account can both account holders apply for separate cards using this method?

Possibly. Might want to talk to a banker first and feel him out. If it works for one application then you can do another one for the second account holder.

There was some talk on FT about staying at Westin and booking a stay with points in one of the suite classes. Any thoughts from anyone on this? Looks as if it is 20k for a regular room there and 40k for a Prestige Suite. Assuming a 5 night stay it will be 80k and 160k respectively for that option.

Being that you are entering the US at LAX and not connecting, why not add a leg to Hawaii for a future vacation?
AA allows a stopover at the gateway city so it won't cost you anything.

Just spoke with AA and I think I might add a leg for the fall to Hawaii since there is some availability in the timeframe I interested in going. Thanks for the tip!

I am in a bit of a pickle and would love some advice... I currently have seats on hold for a few more days for mileage tickets but I think I will need more than that to be sure the dates, times, cities, etc. are all correct. I just called AA and there is not so much wiggle room in terms of availability so I am nervous to go the cancel and rebook immediately route in case someone else is also trying to get the seats. Any suggestions as to how to rebook without taking this risk (I understand that their may be no way around this).
