Topic Wiki

Here is my Excel template to keep track of all of my credit card stuff.

The first tab contains the instructions. I included some of my own entries as examples so you will know what to fill in where.

I put in almost everything possible I could think of. Only thing I'm missing that I didn't get around to adding is the spending bonuses by category (e.g. travel, gas, etc.).

Enjoy. If you have any suggestions, comments, or improvements, Please let me know, I'd love to fix it.

Update- when editing, DO NOT modify any of the tables in the Dashboards (except expected money and debts), ONLY modify data in the Credit Card master sheet and Bank master sheet. The Dashboards contain what is called Pivot Tables and they automatically update when you refresh the data.

I'm not sure how to include an attachment in a wiki, so the file can be downloaded from the first post in this thread.

Hey guys, so I recently got totally obsessed with Microsoft Excel, and learned lots of really neat stuff you can do with it. I saw that other bloggers shared their Excel templates to keep track of stuff, but I thought their's were too simple, so I made my own. I use it personally and I love it.

I want to share it with the DDF community, you can download it here.

If there's already a thread about this, I don't know where it is.

Appreciate you sharing.

Though I haven't had a chance to peruse the spreadsheet, in my experience, an excel spreadsheet that contains "almost everything possible"  is likely to be past the line of "worth it to maintain."

At some point, the juice ain't just worth the squeeze. That said, I personally use a detailed spreadsheet, but limit the fields to absolute necessities for my personal habits.

You put a lot of work into it, looks very professional and appreciate your sharing

I have found for myself that if I keep it simple with just the info that I need ALL the time that it works better than all the details you have incorporated ,plus I like everything on one sheet when i print it  - But I have to say VERY NICE JOB!!

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Impressive work! Although seems like way too much work for me. Quicken may cover most of that stuff automatically.

Wow - still need to take a closer look but this looks very extensive and detailed. Looks like I could adapt a few things into my sheet possibly. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys. If there's demand for it, I could create a simplified version.

Chime in with which fields you would want

Wow, Impressive work!

I have always wanted to learn Excel in more detail, and now I can see some of the stuff it can do.  Can you (and others) please share how to & where to learn lots of really neat stuff about Excel.

I'd love to. I actually learned the basics in a class I took in college, but then learned a lot on my own. Mostly through experimentation... And also from downloading other blogger's spreadsheets and seeing what they did in them.

I'll see if I can find good links of tutorials to post... although feel free to ask me any questions you have in excel, i love playing around with it

I dont have any questions per se right now, just looking forward to learning new things. When you get time, please send me the links to the tutorials. TIA.

beautifully done. btw there are many people that would pay a lot for you to prepare such spreadsheets. charge min. $1500 if its so detailed. you would be surprised what the demand is for businesses

Wow. I'm amazed at the responses...
It's a nice spread sheet with a few pivot tables. The input fields are minimal (not sure why ppl are complaining about to much info..) and the formulas are pretty basic.

I was the first one to +1 this, but if this is worth $1500 I would be a millionaire!

Does this mean one is taking advantage and pricing according to the others lack of knowledge?
