Anybody know about the Avion card. I heard twice a year they have promo to transfer to BA w/50% bonus?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Dont they transfer 1:1 to AA? 1 AA is worth more than 1.5 BA.
Here are last years dates:
RBC Avion promos: 1.25x to AA and 1.5x to BA
1.25x AA, 15/Oct to 30/Nov, per RBC Rewards holiday mailer.
1.5x BA, 26/Oct to 31/Dec, per www.ba.com/avion50

Don't see any indication they will run it again though.

Great info, thanks.
I'm going to speak to someone at RBC later today and try to get some info.

RBC Avion has run 30% bonus to AA in  the past. That is good value

Canadian credit cards

Amazon.ca Chase visa

The only card in Canada with no foreign transaction fees!

there is now one card in Canada that has no foreign transaction fees. The Amazon.ca Rewards Visa from Chase has broken the mold and I am predicting it won't be too long until we start seeing some other cards do away with these expensive fees. The card itself may not be that appealing to travel rewards crowd and outside of the no forex fee the card is quite weak.

I found an existing post about Canadian cards but it was outdated.
So your saying the mods should delete that thread?

canadian credit card
« Reply #150 on: June 01, 2012, 01:54:06 AM »
I know this was sort of discussed.
I am looking for a canadian credit card for my business.
I do a lot of purchasing, around 1 million a year (not profit, I wish!) with it .

The sign up bonuses don't mean to much to me when accumulating so many points.
I have found that the canadian cards are more limited then the US cards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!  :) :)

The Canadian SPG card is golden, at 1 point per $1 spent, that's like a 2% return.

$165 Annual Fee!

For a million starpoints (worth over $20k), $165 is nothing. I'll also bet that the retention bonus they'll offer for someone spending $1M/annually is worth more than the $165.

Welcome to the forums.
You mustve missed @AsherO's post.

Yup, threads were merged (by my request), but I didn't notice and thought the $165 AF was for the SPG Amex.ca card (I skimmed that post).

Even for 1mm BA, $165 AF isn't the end of the world.
