IME they waived the change fee, even within 3 days of the flight. Although taxes/fees were the same for both classes so can't help you there.

Can i book, OW CDG-TLV on AF using AS ? The space is showing on DL, but AS gives me an error when searching for that flight ?

You can't. It's because AS awards can only be booked if they're originating or ending up in the U.S.

That sucks, bec. the flight from NYC-CDG is on AA, and AS won't let me mix partners on a OW award.

I'm trying to decide whether to book an American flight using American miles or Alaska miles. Alaska charges a few dollars more ($19 vs. $5.60). Which is a more flexible currency?

AS is generally considered more valuable, but they've lost value from what they were. Still worth more than AA.

FINALLY some nonstop competition to United on the ewr-san route this can only be positive
