I went to a friendly 7-Eleven a couple weeks ago and ALL gift cards/phone cards/calling cards had been pulled.   Wonder if that was during this implementation?

Bummer if so,  they had variable Vanillas and PPMC.

I was looking forward to using that location for the new Costco 4% gas category.

That was the timeframe they updated the software.

Too bad.   I'd venture to guess that I tried 20-25  7-Elevens and this was the only one I found  that would sell me PPMC or VGC with a credit card. I used it for my Freedom and Disco 5%''s,  would grab one on the WF 5% when I was close and planned on using it for the Costco as I said before.

While I have not verified this myself my sources are pretty accurate.
tried MasterCard at 3 different locations. The cc was approved and then the system reversed it. Looks like gift cards are now hard coded
I had same issue buying a Mastercard Variable 50-500 where the system reversed it. Was able to load ppmcc though... My experimenting was done last Friday.

Or just fill your cup with jelly beans. Or cash. Or gasoline.

It was always YMMV. How do you know it is now dead (i.e. hard coded)?

Interesting. I never tried PP, but Vanilla was YMMV - based on the employees.

why is that a key word in which states is it working? I'm not talking Lakewood. The cashier let it through but it seems the machine was hard coded not to allow cc

Me too, but since about a week ago, everything that I tried was a hard coded decline.
