Actually i am quite familiar with them and understand them all quite well. I see them all as social networking and categorize them all the same in my book

Yes, twitter is more microblogging but I think it can be grouped with the others.

Or in other words: By casting away 'all that stuff' it seems it's more of a judgement call than an (in)ability to leverage those services in ways that serve your interests.

They serve my interests just perfectly: by keeping the people i have no desire to talk to "too busy" to talk to me. I can count on 1 hand how many of my true friends use facebook.

I have facebook. But I don't have twitter since it is the same thing.

It's like saying that email is different from text messages. They both are text from another phone which comes to yours. It doesn't matter whether it is 60 characters or 60 pages, it accomplishes the same thing.

Just throwing in my 2 cents...The daily e-mail comes to me at a perfect time here in Israel...as I'm walking home from Seder...and I enjoy reading it once per day. I am not a DD addict and I almost never check dansdeals.com...I'm mostly on the forums when I'm on. I absolutely REFUSE to get an e-mail or SMS EVERY SINGLE TIME A DEAL IS POSTED...I just want to get a daily update. Dan, I'm sure someone here can write up some very nice "canned responses" (available in gmail) to send to users who ask ridiculous question about the feeds or about customer care on a DVD player, or telling you that you CO is merging with UA.
